Kettlebell Fundamentals: Windmill and Half Kneeling Windmill

The kettlebell windmill is an advanced movement that involves stablizing a kettlebell overhead and hinging through the hips while rotating the thorax to lower toward to floor. This requires overhead strength and mulitplanar control and mobility. I’m not the best at performing the windmill so I have dedicated many hours to learning everything I can about the movement. Check out the semi-long video (8 min) to learn this awesome movement.

The windmill is a unilateral, multi-planar movement that requires a balance of mobility and stability. Check it this slightly long video to learn how to progress to the standing Kettlebell Windmill.

In case your back and hips are lined with cement like mine, here is a PVC mobility routine to help prepare you for the windmill.

Im pretty terrible at windmills so here's my PVC routine that gets me moving enough to be slightly less terrible. Enjoy!
